Brixx - Album of the week #1
Tuesday, June 24, 2008
Yo, this is your man Mikey Brixx! Each week I will share with you some of my favorite music from the past and present. Be sure to check back every week to see how my music brain works.
For my first post I want to highlight my man “JERU THE DAMAJA”. Enjoy!
You may have first heard of Jeru the Damaja back in Hip Hop’s glory days of the early 90’s. This legend was holding down the game with a style that has been attempted by other mc’s but never really accomplished. I remember as a kid watching videos and praying that his video “Come Clean” would “come on”. Of course, he is from my home town of NYC so you know I got love for him. Check him out and cop his hot new album “Still Rising”. He still has that old school freshness that I love.
While you eagerly await my next post, you can check out Jeru the Damaja’s video for “Come Clean”.

Check out another “mashup of the week” from DJ Axel(LA). He put together a track that reveals the rip-off inspiration behind Fergie’s own “Fergalicious”. Here’s a video mashup VJ Brewski created for it:
Just Too Hott!
Monday, June 9, 2008
One of our favorite DJs, Dan Sena, gave us a sneak peak of his new track called ”Just Too Hott” and he just made it available on his MySpace for you to enjoy as well. You can check him out at BusyWork (alongside resident DJs GMO and Clifford Lidell) which is the weekly bash he throws Wednesday nights at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. Make sure to check out the BusyWork one year anniversary party on June 25th. It’s gonna be mental!
